Formula and assumptions

Battery energy = usable capacity × (target charge − initial charge)/100; billed energy = battery energy ÷ (efficiency/100); cost = billed energy × tariff + fee.

Capacity is usable, not gross. Tariff is per billed kWh; fees use the same currency. Efficiency is user supplied. Excludes time-based charges, idle fees and battery degradation. Defaults are illustrative.

60 kWh, 20→80%, efficiency 90%, tariff 0.25, fee 1: 40 kWh billed, cost 11.

GOOD TO KNOW

Which formula and assumptions are used?

Ebat = usable capacity × (end SOC − start SOC)/100; Egrid = Ebat/(efficiency/100); cost = Egrid × tariff + fee. Capacity is usable, not gross. Tariff is per billed kWh; fees use the same currency. Efficiency is user supplied. Excludes time-based charges, idle fees and battery degradation. Defaults are illustrative.
