Start with the destination

For a website, paste the complete address including https://. Open that address first to check the destination. A QR code stores the submitted content; it does not correct a typo or repair a broken link.

Generate and download

Enter a URL or text, generate the code and download the PNG. Keep the content short: long text makes a denser symbol. This tool creates a static code, so changing its encoded address requires generating another image.

Protect the blank border

Keep a clear margin around the symbol and preserve the square shape. Standard QR codes need a quiet zone four modules wide on every side. Do not place text or a logo over the pattern or crop away its border.

Test the actual use case

Scan the downloaded file, then a sample printed at its intended size. Test more than one phone and realistic lighting. Confirm the full destination after scanning, including any campaign parameters, before printing a batch.

Common misunderstandings

The image itself does not track scans. Analytics parameters may help measure visits on the destination website, but scans and visits are not identical. A static code can remain readable while its linked page becomes unavailable.
