How to split an image into an Instagram carousel

Step by step

1. Open Social Media Image Splitter and upload a JPG, PNG or WebP.
2. Choose Carousel, the number of slides and a square or portrait ratio.
3. Adjust the horizontal and vertical crop using the numbered preview.
4. Export the images and download each numbered tile. Add them to your carousel in ascending order.

Worked example

For three slides, the preview shows one continuous composition divided into three panels. A subject crossing a panel boundary continues on the next slide.

Choose a wide source image when possible. Filling a wide composition with a narrow photo can crop much of its top and bottom.

Check your result

Review every tile before posting. Enlarging a small source does not add missing detail.

Grid and puzzle modes create separate profile posts, while carousel slides belong to one multi-image post. Profile thumbnails can crop differently; check the platform preview before publishing. The tool does not publish for you.
