Resizing changes the page canvas
A4 measures 210 × 297 mm; US Letter measures 8.5 × 11 inches (215.9 × 279.4 mm). Their proportions differ, so fitting one page size onto the other can leave margins or require content scaling. Resizing a PDF page is different from cropping: it changes the page dimensions while keeping the content visible.
Toolnoza places each page onto the selected A4 or Letter canvas without stretching it. Depending on the source proportions, the result can contain extra white space. Check whether the document needs portrait or landscape orientation before printing.
Choose a page size and inspect the result
- Check the paper size requested by the printer, office or recipient.
- Keep an original copy, then select A4 or Letter in the PDF page resizer.
- Download the new PDF and inspect pages with tables, borders and small text.
- Use print preview to confirm orientation, scaling and margins.
For example, an A4 page fitted onto Letter may need more reduction in one direction because Letter is shorter. The tool rejects rotated pages and does not carry form fields or annotations into the resized copy. Do not use “fit” when exact physical scale matters, such as a measured engineering drawing; use a verified print scale instead.
Frequently asked questions
Does resizing crop content? The tool fits the visible page onto the selected paper canvas; review the output rather than assuming every PDF feature is preserved. Does A4 equal Letter? No, their dimensions and aspect ratios differ. Will text always remain readable? Scaling can make small text smaller, so inspect the downloaded PDF before printing.
