Mirror and rotate are different

A horizontal flip swaps left and right. A vertical flip swaps top and bottom. A rotation turns the whole frame through an angle. For a selfie that needs the opposite left-right orientation, choose a horizontal flip rather than a 180-degree rotation.

Use the image flipper

Upload a supported image, choose the required mirror direction and process the file. Review the result before downloading. Work on a copy so you can compare the output with the original composition.

What happens to dimensions?

Mirroring preserves the image’s width and height. A 1200 × 800 image remains 1200 × 800 after a horizontal flip. A 90-degree rotation would instead exchange width and height.

Check signs and lettering

Letters, numbers and logos are mirrored with the picture. A horizontal flip can correct mirrored writing, but it also reverses every other left-right relationship in the scene. Inspect faces, directional arrows and labels together.

Export and verify

Open the downloaded image and check orientation and file format. If you also need a different crop or size, apply that deliberately in the corresponding tool. File size may change during export even when the pixel dimensions stay the same.
