Step by step
- Open Compress Image to Size and select your original image.
- Set the limit slightly below 4 MB, for example 3.8 MB. Select a format accepted by the destination.
- Run compression and review the output dimensions, file size and preview.
- Download the result and upload that downloaded file to the destination.
Worked example
A large camera photo may require both lower quality and smaller dimensions. The tool adjusts these to try to fit the chosen limit while preserving the aspect ratio.
A 4 MB limit concerns file weight, not width or height. The upload form may have separate pixel requirements.
Check your result
Inspect faces and small lettering before using the result. Keep the original so you can try a different limit.
JPG fills transparent regions with white. A new extension alone does not convert a file. If the destination rejects the result, check its format and dimensions as well as its weight.
